Mouse polling-rate test
Move your mouse in fast circles for three seconds. BenchRush estimates the frequency of pointer events delivered to this browser. It is intentionally labeled an estimate, because browser coalescing and scheduling can affect the number.
3-second pointer sample
Press Start, then move the pointer in fast circles inside this box.
Ready for a browser event-rate sample.
Use the result as a baseline, not a diagnosis
BenchRush measures browser-visible input. If a result looks wrong, repeat the run, check focus and settings, compare another browser/device where practical, and use manufacturer diagnostics for hardware conclusions.
Questions people ask
Is this the same as raw USB polling rate?
No. It is a browser pointer-event rate estimate. Raw USB polling requires lower-level access than a normal web page has.
Why can a 1000 Hz mouse show a lower number?
Browser event coalescing, operating-system scheduling, CPU load, power saving and movement speed can all reduce the event frequency visible to JavaScript.
What is the most useful way to use this test?
Use the same browser and computer and compare repeated runs. It is best as a consistency check and personal baseline.
