Compare

Compare two BenchRush runs

Changed a browser, USB port, power mode, display setting or device? Put the before and after results next to each other without uploading either run.

Before / after setup comparison

Setup A · before
Setup B · after

Choose saved runs or enter two values manually. No comparison value is saved.

Compare one change at a time

A useful A/B check keeps the device, browser and test method as stable as practical, then changes one thing. Setup Compare can read compatible runs from your local BenchRush history or accept manual values. It does not alter PlayerScore or overwrite your saved progress.

Interpret the result

A/B comparison is useful only when the metric boundary stays clear

Change one variable at a time and remember that browser-visible cadence is context, not an end-to-end latency certificate.

What counts as a fair before/after test?

  1. Pick one metric. Compare reaction with reaction, polling with polling, and so on.
  2. Change one variable. A different mouse and a different browser at the same time make the cause harder to isolate.
  3. Repeat each side. One lucky reaction round or one noisy pointer sample can exaggerate a change.
  4. Keep context metrics in context. More browser-visible polling or refresh Hz is a change in cadence, not automatic proof of lower end-to-end latency.

How the delta is interpreted

Reaction time is lower-is-faster. Accuracy, CPS and Spacebar are higher-is-more for the BenchRush task. Polling and refresh are deliberately reported as a change rather than a winner because a webpage sees browser delivery, not the complete hardware path.

Saved runs stay local

The run picker reads the same local history already shown on PlayerScore. Manual A/B values and comparison results are not added to your score history and are not uploaded.

Use compatibility context when a result changes unexpectedly

If two browsers produce different results, open Browser Compatibility to see which browser APIs BenchRush can access in the current environment, then use the methodology to identify what each metric actually measures.

Questions people ask

Does Setup Compare change my PlayerScore?

No. It reads compatible local run history and compares values on the page, but it does not award XP, change personal bests or write a new benchmark result.

Can I enter results from another computer?

Yes. Manual values let you compare a number from another device, but cross-device comparisons are less controlled than repeated runs on the same setup.

Does a higher polling or refresh number mean the setup is faster?

Not by itself. Those are browser-visible cadence estimates. Total latency depends on other hardware, operating-system and browser layers too.

Privacy by default

Your personal bests, XP and streak are stored locally in this browser. The current tool does not require an account or upload your individual run to a global leaderboard.
