Methodology

What the browser can measure

BenchRush is explicit about the boundary between a browser event test and laboratory hardware measurement.

Input event checks

Keyboard, mouse-button and wheel tools listen for standard browser input events. A positive result means the event reached the page. A missing event can come from hardware, firmware, operating-system interception, browser behavior or focus state.

Polling-rate estimate

The polling tool samples the timing of pointer events delivered to JavaScript during a three-second movement window. It reports an approximate browser event frequency. It does not claim to expose raw USB packets.

Reaction timing

Reaction rounds use performance.now() between the visual state change and the click event delivered to the page. The resulting value includes display and input latency in addition to the player.

PlayerScore

PlayerScore is a local game score from at least three saved benchmark categories. Lower reaction time and higher CPS, spacebar, keyboard-completion, mouse-completion and browser-event-rate results are normalized into a 0–100 component range, then averaged and displayed on a 0–1000 scale. It is not an IQ, medical, employment or professional-ability score.
